Yaesu MH-59 RFI Fix

Yaesu home page

When I first bought and used the Yaesu MH-59 at home, it worked fine, but at Field Day 2004 it suffered from RFI. My fix was:

  1. to purchase a small toroid core (outer diameter ½", inner diameter ¼", other characteristics UNKNOWN ) at a local electronics SURPLUS  store;
  2. remove the back of the MH-59 and unplug the cable connector from the circuit board;
  3. carefully loop the cable connector through the toroid core;
  4. replug the cable connector into the circuit board, and reassemble the MH-59.

I am not your vanity application private consultant! Private messages (regardless of whether you feel a special reason for your application) on these and associated topics will be ignored, rebuffed, and/or made public.

If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, use the AE7Q message board. I've spent a considerable amount of time documenting the vanity application process. I've created a message board,where I and others have publicly answered very common questions, so that we don't have to repeatedly answer them, particularly in private communications.
